Home Visits
A home visit is a key component of the caseworkers work in the
Child and Family Protection Services (CFPS). The purpose of these
home visits is to assess and monitor the situation of the families
and children in cases registered in CFPS. If a new case is reported
and the client/s is unavailable to be brought to Ministry via
telephone or ‘chits’, home visits happen to be the point of initial
contact with the client/s. Home visits are also made in urgent
cases (e.g.: severe physical abuse cases etc) immediately after
the case is reported to the CFPS.
